Favorite Purses for Travel

I came to the realization recently that crossbody bags make the best bags for travel. I normally carry a tote bag, but I decided to take a crossbody on my recent trip to Chicago. It was so nice to have both hands free, and I was able to use my crossbody bag as a sling to hold my jacket while touring the city.

When searching for a good crossbody for travel, I wanted to find a bag that was both functional , stylish, and didn’t scream “tourist”.

Below are my favorite bags that I’ve found:

The Pearl

  • Lo and Sons Pearl Crossbody: This bag has so many different functions packed in to it. It has a special padded pocket for a mini tablet, organizers for your passport, pen, journal, key leash, and more. It’s also made of two types of leather that are both water-resistant and light weight. In addition, it can convert to a clutch. This bag retails for $248, but the site usually has sales and if you sign-up for the mail, you get a code for 20% off.

  • Henri Bendel Jetsetter Convertible Backpack: I just recently purchased this bag and I love it. It converts from a backpack to a crossbody with the snap of the strap. The version I purchased isn’t waterproof, but the nylon versions are. I debated between the mini and the regular size, but decided to go with the mini since it would be more proportional with my height. The mini holds quite a bit including a water bottle, mini tablet, and camera. It ranges from $250 – $298 depending on the size and fabric. Henri Bendel usually has sales periodically, so be on the lookout for them to snag it at a great deal.

  • Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody: I currently use this bag as my everyday bag. It’s been pretty durable against rain. It comes in a variety of colors and different types of leather. It normally retails for around $168, but you can normally find it on sale at department stores though it might be select colors.

How Charming!

I’ve always wanted to have a charm bracelet, but I never took the time to collect charms for them. When I saw the Disney Princess theme charms from Pandora, I decided I want to create a special Disney theme bracelet. Plus, I like that the Pandora Charm bracelet doesn’t comprise completely of dangle charms.

Currently, select Pandora stores are hosting presales for their bi-annual bracelet event. When you spend $100, you will receive  a free Pandora bracelet (valued at $65) or you can pay the difference and upgrade to a different one. Even better, some stores allow you to receive multiple bracelets for every $100 you spend!

Here’s my favorite bracelet:

Below are some charms on my wishlist:

Cinderella’s Dress

Starry Heart

Pooh in a Honey Pot

Do you currently own a Pandora Charm bracelet?

Check, Please!

I’m a huge fan of plaid, and I love that stores start to carry more items with the check print during the holiday season.

Here are a few of my favorite things with this fun print under $50:

Buffalo Check Salad Plate, Set of 4

  • Buffalo Check Salad Plates: $49.50 for a set of four: Add these salad plates to your next dinner for more color on the table. I love that the print reminds me of my favorite plaid shirt. You can either dress up a table or keep it casual with this plate.

Garett Printed Cozy Throw, 50 x 70

  • Garett Printed Cozy Throw: $27: This throw is so soft that I just want to stay in bed with it. I currently have mine on my bed, but you can throw it over a couch or keep it in your car. It’s perfect as a gift for white elephant.

Adam Lippes for Target Bar Set with Carrier - 7 pc

  • Adam Lippes for Target Bar Set: $15 : I believe it’s sold out online, but I found my set at my local Target. If you’re looking for bar tools or needs a great hostess gift, this works perfectly, just add a bottle of your favorite liquor or drink mixer. The tools all have a pretty good weight to it too, and the carrier allows the tools to be easy to transport.

  • The Dreamer Flannel Pajamas: $39.50: After watching New Girl, I fell on the Pajamas bandwagon. I purchase some from Victoria Secret and I love how comfy they are. Now is the best time of year to purchase them, as they’re usually on sale and you can usually receive free gifts with purchase or secret rewards.

Costco Designer Deals

When you hear the word “Costco”, you’re probably thinking of a giant warehouse with your every day household needs. Surprisingly, I found a bunch of great designer deals that make my Costco membership worth it!

These are my favorite deals, all under $100!

Kooba Leather Hobo Bag – I love Kooba bags. The leather is so soft and buttery. This hobo bag comes in this gorgeous tan color and black. It’s priced at a 50% discount than if you were to find a Kooba bag in a similar style.

Kooba Leather Hobo Bag TanHunter Rain Boots: These are such a great steal if you can find it in your size. The boots are priced around 40%+ off retail, depending on the style and color. You better act fast, as these boots have been selling out like crazy. Though some styles are listed as “back-ordered”, Costco can’t guarantee the boots are coming back in stock.

Hunter Ladies’ Original Tall Gloss Rain Boot-Black

UGG Blanche Robe: If you’re  an UGG fan, then this robe is for you. Wrap yourself in the comfy fleece, that UGG is known for. You can find this robe on the UGG website, at a much higher price,  but you do have more color options than the Gray and Cream available at Costco.

UGG® Ladies’ Blanche Robe-Gray

Badgley Mischka Swarovski Watch: I’m not normally a fan of watches, but I do like this one. It looks likes it could pass off as a bracelet if you don’t see the watch face. I’m a fan of their evening wear, and this watch matches their design aesthetics. There are other designs to picks from, and they’re all priced at 50% off other retailer’s prices.

Badgley Mischka Swarovski Crystal Accented Silver-Tone Women's Watch

Columbia Ladies’ Fast Trek II Jacket: When I went skiing this year, I purchased a Columbia jacket, and the inside was  a fleece jacket similar to this. It did keep me warm, and I was able to wear just the jacket when I went out and about on the touch. Costco has select colors on sale at 50% off retail.

Columbia Ladies’ Fast Trek™ II Full Zip Fleece Jacket-Hyper Purple

There are more deals online, but the above are my picks. If you don’t have a Costco membership, it might be worth considering if you find a great deal like those above!

Lilly for Target Faves!

I know it’s probably late, but here’s my favorite items from the Lilly for Target Collaboration. I was lucky enough to get some items at my Target, but by the time it was 8:15, almost everything was gone. It’s a shame that some people are just buying the products for profit. I hope in the future, Target puts a limit on items from collaborations.

Here are some of my favorite things I was able to get, both through Target and trading groups:

  • Espresso Mugs: These mugs were on my must have list, so I was so happy when I was actually able to get them at the store. They were only $30, and adorable. I love the prints and inside each one is a cute quote. I do wish they made a mug in the Upstream print, as it’s my favorite.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Ceramic Mugs with Gold Caddy -Set of 4

  • Upstream Shift: I wasn’t able to get this shift in my size, when I online ordered, but through some trading, I eventually got it. It’s surprisingly very well made and super cute. I love the fish print, and I bought other items with this same print. The shift retailed for $38.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Women's Shift Dress - Upstream

  • Pineapple Serving Bowl: I can’t wait to use this bowl. It’s awesome for chip and dip.I like that it’s an unusual shaped serve bowl to use.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Porcelain Pineapple Serving Bowl - White with Gold Rim

  • Crochet Tank Top: This top is so well made. I couldn’t find my size, so the one I have is a little large me. I was able to shrink it by a little. It’s comfortable to wear, and can be worn both dressy and casual.

Were you able to score anything from the collaboration? I keep finding returns at my Target, so be sure to check them out!

Five Faves #4

After viewing so many on different blogs and Pinterest, I decided I wanted to build a gallery wall. I haven’t decided which wall I want to use, but I’ve already decided on some of the images. All prints will be framed using the Wood Gallery Frames from Pottery Barn in Black.

Here are some of the Five Artists/Prints I plan to frame on my wall:

  • Inslee:  I stumbled across Inslee’s prints while browsing for Fashion Illustrators. I love the watercolors she did of Lela Rose’s Spring 15 collection. Each print was so beautiful, and I had to have each one. It’s also nice that she personally signs each print. If you feel like splurging, you can also purchase an original.

  • History in High Heels Preppy Printshop on Etsy: I love this shop. So many of the prints are of clever words with stylish backgrounds. I did the package of 4 for $40, which is an awesome deal. I also purchased extra prints to put in frames to give as gifts. This one pictured below is my favorite, as it’s the story of my life!

  • Anum Tariq Fashion Illustrations on Etsy: She’s so talented! I want every single one of her fashion illustrations in rotation. I love that she does an array of designers and even celebs. I also like her “gold” works, which are pretty cool. She adds glitter and signs each picture before sending it out. My favorite is the modern day Holly Golightly.

Fashion Illustration Print, Modern Holly

  • Taylor Swift by Peter Max: After seeing Peter Max’s paintings on the cruise, I really liked his style. Normally, I’m not a fan of contemporary art, but I liked the colors and paint strokes. When I saw he did paintings of Taylor Swift’s albums, I knew I had to have one. I hope to get all 4 so I can do a cool wall with them. https://i2.wp.com/store.taylorswift.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/regular%204%20album_1000x979.jpg
  • Megan Hess Illustration: Megan Hess is amazing. She does collaborations with all of the major fashion houses including Chanel, Versace, Tiffany & Co., though her prints are on the pricey side, but I hope to own one. My favorite is of the Tiffany’s box, as it’s one of my favorite movies!

Limited Edition Print - Tiffany Boxes

Do you have a gallery wall? If so, send me some inspiration of your layout and what you frame. As you can see, a majority of mine are all fashion related.

  • Cinderella Compact Mirror: This cute compact mirror retails for $14.95 at the Disney Store. I love the butterfly details of this mirror, and I think this mirror works for people of all ages.

  • LC Lauren Conrad’s Cinderella Collection at Kohl’s: This tulle skirt is super pretty and perfect for twirling around in. I love that it has Cinderella’s castle printed on it.  It retails for $64, but it’s currently on sale for $48. Plus, if you have a Kohl’s card, you can save up to 30% off it. The skirt pictured is “Cindyhood”, but there are other colors in the collection too. Check out the rest of the limited edition collection at your local Kohl’s.

I love the week before Valentine’s! Every thing is all pink and red with hearts!

Here are my five faves this week:

  • Tiny Prints Stationery: My personalized stationery came in and I love it. It’s such a cute design, and I can’t wait to use it. Personally, I never used stationery, but I received a set in my Popsugar Must Have Box. After that, I’ve been using the cards for notes, thank you cards, etc….I’ve also found a bunch of cute design on Etsy that I want to order too!

  • Havaianas Flip-flops on sale at Nordstrom Rack and with a cute polka dot print!

Love Book

  • Artfold Book – I love that it spells out “LOVE”. It retails for $40, but I found it at my local Barnes and Noble for $2! You can’t beat that for a nice bookend.

heart garland

  • Pottery Barn Kid Heart Garland – Picked up this cute garland at PB Kids and it’s currently hanging on my stair bannister.

willow crown headbands

  • Willow Crowns – These cute fabric headbands are made here in Houston! The company actually specializes in hair accessories for kids, but makes adult headbands. The headbands range in price from $10 – $12, and are hand-made. I ordered a few and can’t wait for them to come in.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Plus these shoes come in a classic Missoni Orange and Black box. Currently, select styles are 50% off bringing prices down to around $45.
